Wow, I’ve just arrived here now, and it’s in a lecture hall (expected) and everyone around me, are all well known Asian Pacific Islander American bloggers! You all heard of Angry Asian Man, ChannelAPA.com and a bunch of others I don’t know all the names for and will probably get guff for that later…I’ll have to make a follow up post for sure to give everyone their proper shoutouts.

All the bloggers are starting to arrange themselves, and work their way to their respective seats. They just started to let the rest of the public in. I’m not gonna lie…I’m really curious how this is going to turn out, and I don’t mean how many people show up…definitely beyond that, I have a good vibe about this all…..OH…….I think they are starting the video cameras now…let the filming begin! Common questions that come up in the Asian Pacific Islander community are being asked right now. Varying experiences but seeming to be a same passion and concern on the topics being asked, such as (and this is not verbatim in ANY way) “Do you think women have a harder time in the blogsphere than men do, considering it seems to be a male dominated society not only in general but in the Asian American Pacific Islander community as well, and do you feel women’s voices are better or they blog better than the men do?”

So I’m finally home and ate…and still have some place to be after this…but BANANA was definitely productive and a good next step for starting a new coalition of sorts or at least…bringing the community more on the same page with each other. Some heated discussion too at times! Not too long of a story here Boos & Goos. I was asked to be a part of the New Student Orientation for Cal State Fullerton along with DJ Mex from the La Fiesta Show on Titan Radio and Tuffy The Titan was with us for the couple days we were at the week long event. As DJ Mex threw on “Girls On The Dance Floor” I knew what I had to do…capture a moment to show the guys of Far East Movement, that the CSUF Titans are ready to get down with Girls on the Dance Floor!

I’m a little surprsied I haven’t burned out quite yet as we’ve pretty much reached the halfway mark for shows on Titan Radio and of course for the Asian Persuasion Show. Wearing two different hats as both a manager of Titan Radio and a DJ of a flagship show of the station, from time to time things can get hectic. I just wanted to thank all you fans for sticking with the Asian Persuasion Show, and look forward to the rest of the semester ending strong.
Also, if you’re a student of Cal State Fullerton, or a school coming by this Saturday, for the Friendship Games. Hope you all have a good time, and I will actually be there for the half time show as a couple of my friends including AJ Rafael will be performing! So definitely stop by and say hi, if you aren’t already going to be a part of the games!
I think I might have DJ Mex from La Fiesta come back in and mix tomorrow…we’ll see on my mood and of course if schedules work out…

Around a year and a half ago I first touched down on the California State University Fullerton’s campus with little more than a backpack full of ambition, a mind full of dreams, and hands clenched on the backpack strap full of determination to take the next step to my degree, and my first one as a glorious Cal State Fullerton Titan. Little did I know, shortly after, I would embark on a journey sparked from one little idea that would not only lead me in a whole other academic direction, but also fulfilling a desperate need for a medium for local as well as national Asian/Pacific Islander American artists to have their music showcased to the world.
We all love youtube…but let’s be honest…can you hear M. Meow there??? Well…maybe not yet, the point is that after realizing there was a healthy demographic of Asian and Pacific Islanders on the Cal State Fullerton campus, let alone the city of Fullerton itself, let alone Orange County itself, coupled with the fact that Titan Radio had no such programming to speak of…I pitched the idea to the heads of the radio station. Shortly after the pitch which was made late January came the premiere date on Valentine’s Day 2008, which would begin the slogans “Boos & Goos” as well as that all too familiar sign off “Peace in Tao…M. Meow”.
A year and a half later, with flyers printed, a couple newpaper articles as well as online articles written about the show or myself and my advancement within the management staff of Titan Radio comes…to YOU ALL…FINALLY….TheAsianPersuasionShow.com. Remarkably it hasn’t felt like that long of a road, and actually feels like the time has gone by so fast. Is there going to be an exit to this bullet train I’m currently on? Pnly time will tell, until that day comes, please enjoy the rest of the season/s of the Asian Persuasion Show on Titan Radio.
Thank you to all the fans, performing music artists, faculty and club organizations that have supported the show thus far. I hope the support will continue and certainly grow as time goes on, for not only the show but the artists that have help make the show what it is today.
To the artists, thank you for deciding to follow your passions, and in turn, inspiring us all.
